Halloween Party
Yesterday was my Halloween Party. About 50 adults and around 20 kids came. All of the kids stayed in the basement while the adults hung out upstairs. I have to admit, it wasn’t as messy as last year, but it still took a while to clean up.
The food was excellent, the wings and everything were perfect.
Yeah, it was everything and more I expected it to be.
PSATs
I took the PSAT this morning. I think it went fairly well. The math part was easy but I had a lot of trouble on the English part.
Seriously! who uses words like “draconian”!
Thoughts on: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
15Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
This verse is pretty straight-forward. It tells us to be joyful, to pray all of the time, and to give thanks for everything; because Jesus wants us to.
I think that I follow this verse pretty well. I tend to be joyful most or all of the time, I give thanks for everything I receive, and I thank God for the gifts he has given me in my life.
Thoughts on: Acts 1:14
14They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
Honestly, I don’t pray about much. On occasions, though, I do pray about things; like for help, or guidance in troubled times. I do pray during church and when a group that I am in has a prayer. I should really start praying on my own every day, it might help me grow with and learn from the Lord.
In our church in in our group, we do very well with praying. We start with a prayer, sometimes we pray in the middle, and end with a prayer. It’s great, because we usually have different people pray every time so that people can get comfortable with praying.
HP BLACKBIRD 002

One of the coolest PCs I have seen in a long time.
It’s pretty expensive though, running at nearly $5,000 for the dedicated edition.
Thoughts on: Philippians 2:1-4
If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3Do nothing our of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Jesus is the perfect example of what we should act like. Instead of worrying about our own needs we should worry about the people around us and those who are in need. We should serve with a servant’s heart and do it with spirit and purpose. We should not be selfish but think of others’ needs more important than yours.
I should learn from this to be more patient with people and I could use this verse to help be more understanding and helpful.
